Inclusivity Shines in Negri’s Night Half Marathon

Matrix Concepts hosted an inclusive Malaysia Day night half marathon in Bandar Sri Sendayan, donating wheelchairs to Negeri Sembilan's para athletics teams.

Editorial.

Hosting a night half marathon on Malaysia Day felt like the right way to celebrate what the occasion is really about, bringing people together across all backgrounds and abilities. From the 5km fun run to the full 21.2km route, we were proud to welcome differently-abled participants alongside thousands of others, and to cap the evening by donating 10 wheelchairs and two lawn bowl sets to the Negeri Sembilan para athletics teams heading to Sukma 2024 in Sarawak. Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun joining us on the VIP 1km run made it all the more special. The Story.

I commend Matrix Concepts for their vision and dedication in creating such a meaningful platform where people from all walks of life can come together to celebrate Malaysia Day,” said Aminuddin, who also took part in the 1km VIP run.

Matrix Concepts chairman Datuk Mohamad Haslah Mohamad Amin said the developer had always emphasised the importance of inclusion in their initiatives. He emphasised that unity and diversity were the pillars of a strong community.

“We are proud to have included differently-abled participants who inspire us with their determination.

“This event underscores our commitment to ensuring everyone has a place in our celebrations, regardless of their background or abilities,” said Mohamad Haslah.

The run featured three categories: 5km, 10km and 21.2km. After the prize-giving ceremony, Matrix Concepts donated 10 wheelchairs and two lawn bowl sets to the Negri Sembilan para athletics teams taking part in the ongoing Para Malaysia Games (Sukma) 2024 in Sarawak.
