Matrix Concepts Foundation hosts an iftar gathering for four Negeri Sembilan charities under its "Beraya Di Mana Jua" initiative, with contributions, festive shopping and a community dinner at d'Tempat Country Club.
Ramadan is a time for reflection and giving, and our "Beraya Di Mana Jua" initiative is how we try to live that out. This year, Matrix Concepts Foundation hosted an iftar gathering at d'Tempat Country Club for four charities, including shelter homes and a training centre for persons with disabilities, accompanied by a RM5,000 contribution to each organisation and a festive shopping trip to Jakel Senawang for the children. Seeing the smiles, the performances and the connections made that evening reminded us of why community has always been at the heart of everything we do. For 17-year-old Muhammad Aris Farizat and younger brother Adam Mukhriz Abdullah, Hari Raya is a bittersweet time of year. As schoolmates prepare to balik kampung with their families, the siblings will return to Yayasan Kasih Sayang Negri Sembilan, the shelter home where they have lived for over a decade.
The centre, which houses underprivileged children aged 10 – 17, is the only home they remember. Despite their circumstances, though, the brothers still look foward to celebrating with fellow residents.
Muhammad Aris, a Form Five student from SMK Senaling near Seremban, said while the festive atmosphere may not be the same as in a kampung, caretakers and well-wishers made sure the children did not miss out.
