Matrix Concepts to open nursing care centre in Sendayan with healthcare, elderly care experts

Matrix Concepts partners with Alpro Group and Mercy Senior Care Centre to open a 130-bed nursing care facility at Suria Heights, Sendayan, serving post-surgery and long-term care patients.

Editorial.

A truly complete township plans for every stage of life, including the later years. Our MoU with Alpro Group and Mercy Senior Care Centre to jointly develop and operate a 130-bed nursing care facility at Suria Heights is a meaningful step toward that vision. With Malaysia set to become an aged nation by 2030, we believe communities need professional, compassionate care options close to home. This facility will serve those recovering from surgery, managing long-term conditions or requiring post-discharge supervision, all within the familiar surroundings of Bandar Sri Sendayan. The Story.

Property developer Matrix Concepts Holdings Bhd has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with healthcare group Alpro Group, and elderly care provider Mercy Senior Care Centre Sdn Bhd to jointly develop and operate a fully equipped nursing care centre in Suria Heights, Sendayan, Negeri Sembilan.

In a statement last Friday (Oct 17), the parties said the upcoming facility, with a capacity of over 130 beds, will cater to individuals requiring specialised nursing care, regardless of age. It will serve long-term bedridden patients, those recovering from surgery or accidents, and individuals in need of rehabilitation or post-discharge supervision.

The centre will operate as a Ministry of Health–registered nursing care facility, ensuring that all aspects of clinical oversight, safety, and patient care adhere to national healthcare standards. The aim is to deliver comprehensive and compassionate care within a comfortable environment that bridges hospital recovery and home living.

Under the partnership, Matrix Concepts will contribute its expertise in community-focused development and provide the strategic Sendayan location, ensuring accessibility for families.

Meanwhile, Mercy Senior Care Centre has decades of experience in managing licensed nursing and convalescent homes, and Alpro Group will integrate its extensive healthcare network—including doctors, pharmacists, physiotherapists, dietitians, nutritionists, and allied health professionals—to ensure residents receive continuous, evidence-based medical support.

With Malaysia expected to becoming an aged nation by 2030, and with rising demand for post-hospitalisation and long-term care, the collaboration aims to deliver a timely and forward-looking solution, stated the media release.

“By combining our expertise in integrated township development with Alpro’s healthcare excellence and Mercy Home’s dedication to elderly care, we’re building an environment where people can live well, grow, and age with dignity,” said Matrix Concepts co-CEO of the property development division Chai Keng Wai.
